Dear Ivo,
Last week we completed our week stay at the VILLA DOBESKA apartment. Upon arrival the owner Dagmar met us at her property (which she and her family reside on the first floor).
She was very kind to us, showing us the apartment on the second floor (note--there are quite a few stairs which would be difficult for an older person) She took the time to show me the local mall, located about 3 miles way, where I found an ATM and a great restaurant called, Pizza Colosseum. She also showed us the tram at the bottom of the hill which take you into Old Town in about 8 mins. After we got our bearings everything went smoothly.
The apartment does have WIFI but no TV -- it would be recommended for this apartment to supply some puzzles, playing cards and/or Uno for those with younger children.
This apartment does have a small washer which was a great help traveling with kids but no toaster.
Over all the apartment fit our needs and we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the apartment and genuine care Dagmar showed us.
Warm regards,
The Dennis Family

Reply of the owner: We are all very glad that you found the time to write us. It is always very pleasant to learn that our apartment and our service have contributed to the overall impression of your visit to Prague. We are very glad to learn what could be improved and adjusted for our next guests.
Toaster: We have immediately bought a new toaster so all future guests can have a freshly roasted bread for breakfast.
Stairs: The apartment is on the 1st floor (European floors - meaning 1st floor above the ground floor). There are two ways to access the entrance door - from the street below (one fly of stairs) or through the garden gate which leads you straight to the entrance door of the apartment. All our guests can freely use both entrances (each key set has a key from the garden entrance as well). Once you enter the house (separate individual entrance for the rental apartment) you go up 15 steps to get in the apartment and to get the magnificent view of the river and the city from terrace. We've had several elderly guests, even with walking sticks who did not mind the stairs at all. But it is good to know that there is a staircase and no elevator, for people who have difficulties with walking.
Toys: There is a ping-pong table in the garden (see photos) which all our guests are invited to use. We've learned over the years that puzzles and cards get lost too quickly and they are no longer usable when incomplete.
Hello Ivo and Lenka:
I just wanted to thank you again for providing such a nice place for us to stay and for all of your help while we were in Prague. We had a wonderful visit to Prague and look forward to returning some day.
If you see David, please tell him we also appreciated his help getting to and from the airport.
Take care,
Ted
Hi,
I would just like to say thank you very much for a very nice stay in Prague. We really enjoyed staying in Villa Dobeska, the hosts were so nice and we were greeted like kings :) Please give them our regards and let them know how much we enjoyed staying in their beautiful home and especially there beautiful terrace with the great view over Prague! Also I would like to say that it was a pleasure doing business with you, everything was perfect from the first time I contacted you. It was very nice that you answered my emails quickly and that you tried to help me in every way I asked. I will write a review on you website in a couple of days, a good one. I will definitely book an apartment from you in the future.
I will recommend you to others in the future, and tell about your different apartments and that you pick up at the airport, perfect.
I am thinking about starting a little travel agency and arrange trips to Czech Rep, Slovak, Poland and maybe other countries. Would you be interested in a partnership where I show your apartments on my website and book people in them. You would be dealing with me, and I deal with the people booking through me.
Best Regards
Nicolai (Danmark)
Hello,
Here's my feedback regarding Villa Dobeska:
The apartment is a modern, spacious and well designed place. Very comfortable and easily accomodated our family of 7 ranging in age from 13 to 80. Though a little away from the main attractions, the bus stop is very close and provides frequent service to the metro station. Tram stop is also within walking distance although the walk back is up hill and may be challenging for some individuals especially if carrying luggage. The villa is located in a very nice hill top residential area and the view from the terrace and apartment windows is stunning. You can see all of Prague and identify the famous landmarks. Binoculars are provided to help enjoy the view. Rental rate is very reasonable.
Our hosts were very gracious and made several helpful recommendations for sign seeing and eating. Unexpected extras like the kitchen being stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, beer, sodas and water and the clothes washer with detergent provided made our stay even more enjoyable. Plenty of maps and sight seeing literature in various languages was very helpful. The teenagers were happily occupied sitting on the terrace, taking advantage of the efficient wifi or playing ping-pong in the garden.
We left my son's special blanket behind and I got a call. We were still in Prague and were able to retrieve it.
A couple of suggestions - the buzzer at the main gate seems to not work and calling the phone appears to be the way to get someone to come to the door. When we got to the villa I had some problems with my cell phone and stood at the gate calling out until someone came to the door. Others may not have a phone. I tried to ask about the buzzer but had some communication issues so I'm not sure about the situation. It's possible I didn't do something right and my buzzer problem was not really a problem.
///Reply from the owner: the buzzer got a new label which is well visible and it's fully functional now. Thank you for pointing out this problem, we are very grateful for this kind of suggestions.///
For those walking from the bus stop and expecting to make a right turn on Haje, the street name is not on that end of the road. One needs to keep track of the street before that in order to know which one is Haje. Since the directions were very straight forward I made the mistake of not printing out a map of the area and spent some time walking around looking for "Haje" not knowing that I had passed it several times!
///Reply from the owner: "Printing the map is always a good idea. The address is always quoted in full in our Confirmation Email (The street is called 'U HAJE'). There is a Google Map on the apartment's page on our website. We are always ready to send you detailed instruction for the way using public transport. For future guests: Do not hesitate to call us if you get lost, we know Prague very well and we will guide straight to us.///
All in all a very enjoyable stay. I've already recommended the villa to several people.
BTW, I have also been very impressed with the prompt and detailed responses I've received from the folks at "Apartments in Prague". Thanks for all your help.
Thanks,
Nandini
